Maintenance Technician

**Position Overview:

**

Maintenance Technician co-workers are responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of all plant machinery and equipment. The various machinery and equipment includes: Blow Mold machinery, leak detectors, conveyor systems, chillers, towers, air compressors, strappers, stretch wrappers, and palletizers. Close attention to quality and detail is a must while working in a fast-paced and quick changing environment.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

**

  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors. Properly uses all personal protective equipment.

  • Assures and participates in all plant safety/accident prevention policies. This includes maintaining a safe work environment and following safe work practices.

  • Responsible for accurately recording and

    reporting data in the FMS and SAP systems and any additional reports requested by managers/supervisors.

  • Responsible for analyzing data and production reports on an on-going basis and partnering with the appropriate Supervisor/Manager if there are any concerns.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities assigned by management

  • Observes production machinery to troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues to locate and repair the causes.

  • Dismantles machinery and mechanical equipment to remove defective parts; repairs or replaces the defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on the equipment including determining and ordering appropriate materials and parts for service/repair of equipment and facility, lubricating and cleaning machinery and mechanical equipment.

  • Documents and reports area of responsibility to supervisors and managers, including continuous innovative improvements efforts.

  • Train current and new members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed.

  • Learn new on the job skills as training opportunities become available.

  • Follow all HACCP, GMP and Product Safety rules and guidelines.

  • Maintains housekeeping of work areas along with tasks assigned by supervisors/managers.

  • Ability to work in hot environment with temperatures approaching 125F degrees.

**Qualifications:

**

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to collaborate with others, work independently, and

    communicate information clearly

  • High attention to detail, creative thinking, and idea generation, with ability to analyze data and identify improvement areas

  • Strong analytical, electronic/mechanical aptitude to learn, troubleshoot and diagnose issues using blueprints and electrical schematics regarding

    pneumatic, hydraulic, and compressed air systems

  • Good knowledge of blow molding machines, conveyor systems, chillers, towers, air compressors, strappers, stretch wrappers, and palletizers

  • Significant manufacturing experience with ability to complete Machine Operator I Level 4 training

  • Able to stand/walk on concrete floor in a high-speed production facility

**Authorization:

**

  • Ability to shut down any machine if it poses an imminent danger to employee’s health and/or safety.

  • Ability to shut down any machine because of a quality problem so suspect material can be contained.

  • Ability to shut down any if it is down three times in one hour for the same mechanical problem.

Salary info:

$27.65 - $35 / hr
